Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday everyone! How have you been? It has been pretty busy here but I miss you ladies so much. I had to change my routine to fit into my new “lifestyle” and I am struggling to get it right when it comes to blogging. The good news is: I am back. I will probably post twice a week instead of 3 for the next 2 weeks until I get my way around this new busy schedule of mine. I will tell you more about this new “schedule” later but for today, I want to share 10 fashion advice I believe can make your life easier when it comes to dressing up everyday.
1- Dress for your body shape not your age.
I am often asked what to wear at a certain age and I always reply that you simply need to dress your body shape and #2 below. Other than that, you should have fun dressing up…
2- Show skin Strategically
Looking truly sexy involves knowing what to bare-and what to keep under wraps. “If it’s cleavage, don’t show your legs. If it’s your legs, stay covered on top.”
3- Make friends with a good tailor
Nothing raises the quality of moderately priced clothes more than having them altered to suit your shape. Build a relationship with a tailor or dressmaker who knows your body and your taste and you’ll never look back.
4- Have a stylist emergency kit
-
Double Stick tape for loose hems or a gaping bodice;
-
Tide To Go eraser pen for getting wine off whites, fast;
-
Safety pins for allover damage control;
-
Bra clip to control peekaboo straps;
-
Lint brush or roller to run over your coat, pants or woolens;
-
Makeup sponge for removing deodorant stains.
5- Only buy a bargain if you love it
Don’t get it because it’s cheap and in your mind you will find a way to make good use of it – you know it isn’t true. Buy it if you love it.
6- Spend your budget in accessories
A good quality handbag and a nice pair of shoes along with some great jewelry pieces will take any regular outfit to the next level. A nice silk scarf is also a nice option. Think of neutral colors so you can make good use of your investment.
7- When in doubt wear nude pumps
Nude shoes match to your skin tone and they also make legs look longer. They go with everything and give you that effortlessly chic look.
8- Open your mind
Try taking one “it’s cute but so not me” thing into the fitting room. You never know, it might surprise you…
9- Edit your closet
Here we go again. Kind reminder: consider donating anything you haven’t worn in the past year.
10- Create your own lookbook
Got compliments on your outfit? Take a photo of it with your phone. You’ll have a quick reminder of what to wear the next time you’re in a rush.
I could think of about 50 more things to add to the list but I wanted to tackle the main ones without getting too deep into details. Maybe I can make a series of 10 – once a week for the next month. Let me know what you think in the comment sections below and most importantly what are the style/fashion tips you think should be included in the top 10. I would love to read and probably get some clues for upcoming posts.
