Hi everyone,
While it’s been a quiet year for the fashion world, this season has unveiled seriously bold and stylish designs. Large and in-charge blazers, bold blue bags, and sleek face masks dominated Fashion Weeks over the last few weeks. And while we are all excited to see how fast fashion will interpret those trends,we should be mindful of which one of these trends we will incorporate in our wardrobe based on our lifestyle, bodyshape, skin complexion and personal style. So instead of making comments about the upcoming fashion trends, I will provide some quick tips that hopefully can help you make some smart decisions when the time will come to shop for some of those trends.
- Oversized Shoulder pad Boyfriend Jackets : will add volume to the silhouette and make you look shorter – Proceed with caution, if you have an inverted triangle body shape, if you are overweight or under 5’4”.
- Head scarves : Choose colors that flatter your skin tone as they will be worn close to your face.
- black masks : can make you look pale, sick or greying if you have a warm undertone (especially if you belong to the Spring season). If you want to embrace this trend, make sure to wear bright and light makeup in bronze tones.
- sorbet pastel tones : Perfect color palette for the cool seasons, do not wear close to your face if you belong to the warmer seasons.
- Yellow bag : Nice pop of color. Beware of the quality of the material.
- Folk inspired coat: From lightweight to winter coat, do not hesitate to shop your parents or grandparents closet as you might be able to find some hidden gems.
- White knee high boot : White shoes have been slowly coming back. If you like the idea of a white pair of shoes, go with some white pumps if the boots don’t suit your lifestyle or climate.
- Yellow and camel color styling: Select a shade of yellow that flatters your complexion and if you belong to the cool season, go for a more chocolaty camel.
- Pop of blue accessories : The shade of blue that is currently trending is the duck blue but any shade of blue – like denim blue – will do the trick. Add a pop of blue to your monochrome outfit to update your go-to outfits.
- Fringing on the bags : beware of the material. If the bag looks cheap, it won’t bring anything to your outfit. Keep in mind that accessories are to be used to elevate you look not the other way around.
Other trends from past seasons that are here to stay a little longer: Leather clothing, white clothing, bold floral prints, feather jacket, bra top, flared / wide leg pants (getting bigger), sheer fabrics and overly cutout clothes.

What we have to remember is not to chase a fashion piece just because it’s trending. Take the time to look at what’s trending and carefully choose the one (s) you wish to incorporate into your wardrobe based on your personal taste, lifestyle, body shape and skin tone. With that said, what new trend are you looking forward to incorporating into your spring wardrobe? Comment below and let me know. I will not be investing in new trends but I can easily shop my wardrobe for almost everything except for the fringing bag which doesn’t go with my personal style anyway.
Thank you for stopping by.

Great tips, Moumous, and your outfit is beautiful! I am committing to much less shopping this year and limiting myself to more sustainable acquisitions like thrift and consignment shopping instead. So any new trends that I may want to try, I will have to find in second hand shops or my closet! But it's a good thing that trends come and go and like you said, you can find some hidden gems buried in the back of closets. Thanks for linking with me!

Thank you Shelbee, I need to commit more on buying sustainable clothing. With that said, you can find so many trendy pieces in consignment. So many trends are 90's-80's-70's inspired so I'm sure you will be able to embrace some of them with no trouble at all…

Good advise especially at the end there! It's so important to love what you buy and to focus on things that make you feel good over trends! 🙂
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!
