Hi everyone,
Happy Tuesday! As we are welcoming new trends in 2021, we must certainly ditch some of those trends that are dated and that certainly doesn’t do anything to elevate our personal style. It’s definitely time to get rid of the fashion duds in our closet. Our wardrobe needs some freshening up as we move into the new year. Since new fashion is making a storm, here’s a list of 10 things we have to ditch this year.
- Baggy shapeless clothes : go for more form fitting, tailored clothes instead. Or at the very least, add a belt to accentuate the waist;
- Biker shorts : That one is so outdated and can be easily replaced by regular shorts or even denim shorts;
- Overly distressed jeans : Another trend that we can say good-bye to with no regret. They can be replaced with mom jeans or straight cropped leg denim. Big jeans, bottom bell and wide legs are also making a major comeback.
- Overly oversized collars or disco collars : I personally like the oversize sweater trend better than the sweater with exaggerated collars but anything with a scalloped collar is more polished and currently more trending.
- Dad sneakers : A white pair of leather sneakers will sure give you the well polished and put together look we are aiming for or you can go with some square toe heeled sandals if , like me, you don’t care for sneakers.
- Head to toe logo look : I personally find this trend a little trashy – tasteless. I would stick to the rule of 1 in that particular case with the logo belt. It seems to be a great way to embrace this trend.
- Latex and Vinyl: Can be replaced by faux leather clothings
- Neon: Let’s replace neon with more neutral, earth tone shades.
- Bell sleeves : so outdated. If you are a pear, square or hourglass shape, you may consider replacing that trend with oversize sleeves. Round and inverted triangle body shapes – Please proceed with caution.
- Micro purses : Last, but not least. The micro purses are useless so we should happily replaced them with the oversized clutches

Personally, I didn’t get any of those trends except a pair of distressed denim that were sent to me by mistake and I decided to keep them (they fit me so well :-)) and a mini purse that I purchased for my 3-year old daughter – so technically they do not belong to me but I did use them for a photoshoot. So what are the trends you are ditching in 2021. Comment below and let me know.
Thanks for stopping by.

Your oversize blazer and leopard combo here look fabulous! I agree with getting rid of baggy clothes, or at least adding a belt for some shape.
I hope you are having a great week!

I do like the bell sleeves when they are not oversize or too dramatic.

I few other things that should be gone are boyfriend jeans, joggers, oversized glasses & crop tops. My opinion anyway.

Moumous, this is a fabulous outfit! I love the blush pink on you and it looks amazing with leopard print. So cool. I will never be over distressed denim, but I love all denim so I can just switch it out for a while if I tire of one style. I also am not a huge fan of sneakers so I never liked dad sneakers. And biker shorts are not for me either. I have had a few micro bags in the past, but they are so completely useless, so why bother! That was a fun read.

I have one pair of distressed denim that I am in love with (you probably remember the struggle I had to add those one into my wardrobe lol). I don't see myself part way with them because they are one of the most flattering jeans on me – so I feel you — lol

This is a fabolous outfit! I actually started wearing biker shorts while I was at home last year. I was never really into them but they are so much more comfortable than denim shorts for lounging around the house!
