Hi everyone,
I hope this post finds you well. Things have been quite chaotic on my side. For the past month, I have been thru some tough times. I am definitely experimenting with the true meaning of: “When it rains, it pours.” However, I am pretty confident that better days are ahead. So in the meantime, I am taking it one day at a time, enjoying the everyday little wins: my birthday, Aby’s 1st communion, still being able to navigate towards life and responsibilities, etc…
So, while I am trying to pull through, I found myself lacking inspiration and so not in the mood for social media. However, I have a lot of content in the pipeline and quite a few commitments to come through with. Today’s post was scheduled to be released during the first week of May but unfortunately, life has decided otherwise. So instead of a Mother’s Day gift idea, here are some great ideas if you want to spoil a special woman in your life: a wife, a girlfriend, a BFF, a sister, or, just someone you want to show your appreciation.
Shop The Look
Most of the time, especially in my culture, we tend to buy household items as we find that “women belong in a kitchen. If she is a chef, or a baker, buying her baking pans or a food processor might sound like a great gift, if not, why go there? Buy her something for HER, something she loves, something that she will not have to share with anyone.
Here are my ultimate top 10 gifts for that special someone you want to please (the list was made for Mother’s Day).
All-inclusive Spa Day
All mothers work hard. It does not matter whether you are a businesswoman, a doctor, or a stay-at-home mom, being a mother is a full-time job and no matter how much we love it, it is exhausting. So, having a moment to yourself to relax, have a massage, and do your hair and nails is all we could ask for.
Flowers
Not everyone loves flowers so you need to figure out whether your mom, your wife, or the mother you want to spoil likes them before going all out. Personally, I love getting flowers. In case you didn’t know, the type of flowers and the color you get can have a meaning so choose wisely.
Clothes, shoes, handbags
The three most important things a woman can have. Who doesn’t like receiving clothes, shoes or handbags as gifts? Do not buy something because you think it looks cute. Get the gift according to the person’s style. And be mindful of your relationship with the gift recipient before picking up one of those items as they are quite personal.
Jewelry
Depending on the woman’s age and the type of relationship you share you can go for either fine jewelry (my personal favorite) or those fashion, statement pieces. The idea is to pay a little more attention to what she usually wears and surprise her with something that can easily be incorporated into her wardrobe.
Mug
As cute as they are, mugs are not for everyone. If the mom is a coffee/tea type of a person, it will indeed be a great gift but if not, do not go there. Get those “Mom is the best” type of mugs or have it personalized with pictures.
Gift card
Some people don’t know their mother’s preferences and that’s okay. Gift cards are a great gift too because you allow the person to get something they really want.
Charcuterie board
Everyone loves a delicious Charcuterie Board. This gift idea can be given to teachers, neighbors, friends, or a hostess gift. I love cheese and I still remember that charcuterie board I received at the hospital after giving birth to my first board 9 years ago. And, although I am against buying food as gifts, charcuterie boards are so cute because they can make the ham and the fruits into little roses shapes and I think that is amazing and thoughtful. Plus you can add all their favorite candies. Sparkling wine, anyone?
Perfume
I am a fragrance lover and collector needless to say that this one would be on my list. If you want to gift a woman a fragrance and you are not sure about her taste go with something classy yet elegant. Here are my top 5 designer fragrances recommendations: Chanel Chance EDT, Chloe EDP Original, Elie Saab Le Parfum EDP, Guerlain Mon Guerlain EDP, and Yves Saint Laurent Libre. I would be open to making a dedicated post to further this topic. Just leave me a comment in the comment section below.
Scented candles
I love candles mostly for their calming effects. Not only they are great decor pieces, but they can also bring any room to life. I particularly enjoy the fruity scent in my kitchen, the airy, breezy effect in my bathroom, essential oils for my leaving room, and gourmand type for the bedroom. Depending on your budget, you can go B&BW or my favorites Jo Malone and Diptyque on a more high-end side.
A collection of pictures
Nowadays people are getting really creative with this. For Valentine’s Day, I got my husband this little box full of photos of some of the greatest memory we shared as a family and he loved it. It’s like a surprise box when you remove the bow it opens up and reveals the cute pics. Just food for thoughts…
For me, 4, 8,3, and 9 in that order are my top picks every day all day. But 1,2 and 7 are also welcome. As for 6, I would much prefer a Visa or a Mastercard gift card so I don’t feel obligated to buy at a specific place.
So let me know in the comment section below what was are some of the memorable gifts you have ever received and what is on your wishlist. As usual, I can’t wait to read your comments.
Thanks for stopping by.
