Hi everyone,
I decided not to post on Tuesday January 12, as a memorial to the terrible earthquake that happened back in 2010. Eleven years ago, I witnessed an horror movie turned into reality right before my eyes: More than 300,000 people were killed, several hundred thousand were injured and nearly 1.5 million were left homeless when the magnitude 7 earthquake hit Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010. I opted to spend the day remembering the deaths and expressing my gratitude to the almighty God for sparing me and my family from this catastrophe. I ended my day with a group of youth who invited me to give a speech on “Fashion & Handicap” as a way of celebrating life and a reminder that we should all make the best of today. Talking to them about the purpose of our journey on earth and how short and unpredictable that journey fueled the inspiration behind today’s post. Here’s 10 things that we need to let go of to be happy.
1- Let go of toxic people
2- Let go of the past
3- Let go of the need to be right
4- Let go of being a victim
5- Let go of negative self-talks
6- Let go of the needs to impress others
7- Let go of all beliefs
8- Let go of the needs to please everyone
9- Let go of Gossip
10- Let go of the future
I will not further elaborate as each one of them will speak to us in a different way depending of where we are in our journey on becoming our better self.

Fabulous outfit and jacket, Moumous! And what a brilliant post. I have let go of all of the things you listed many years ago except number 7. Letting go of beliefs is something that has happened naturally for me over this past year. I feel cleansed and ready to move forward with a clean slate. I feel much lighter because of it! And what a beautiful tribute to those lost in the 2010 earthquake. I have taken a moment to send some prayers.
