2 golden rules to stay trendy on a budget

October 6, 2020 by Moumous |

Hi Everyone,

“Absolutely no one wants to look frumpy and outdated in public. Being trendy has become one of the essential ways to be socially adequate.” What a dramatic entrance! Hello ladies, how have you been? I hope that this post finds you well. Social media and the internet have made everyone of all age groups aware of the growing trends, the lushest stores, and expensive luxurious brands. However, many find it a challenge to adopt a trendy lifestyle.

Contrary to the common perception, to be trendy, possessing millions of dollars is not necessary! There are many ways to stay trendy on a budget, but for today let’s just cover 2 of the fundamental rules that anyone can follow to achieve a fashionable lifestyle.

1- Staples are versatile

When shopping, make staples your priority. Find basics that are cool and trendy but not over the top, one of a kind piece. Plain, monochrome T-shirts of different designs, basic pants, shorts, Classic denims, and leather jackets may sound boring but they offer versatility when it comes to styling them for different occasions. Accessories can always be added on top of a plain dress or suit to glam-up the look. The key here is to Style Your Favorite Basics in a Myriad of Inventive Ways – incorporating trendy accessories and hairstyles.

2-Shop your closet

Declutter Your Closet & Get Reacquainted with Your Wardrobe. It’s time to go shopping in your closet. You’d be surprised by all the wonders that lie within your own wardrobe. From this season’s biggest fabric trends (such as leather, crochet, vintage denim) to the print trends that were all over the runways (pinstripes, polka dots, vintage florals) and the silhouettes that are trending right now (voluminous, billowy dresses, puff sleeves, wide-leg trousers), scouring your closet for some of these specific styles will keep your looks very au courant.

And remember the key here is to be creative: Color play, break convention, Go retro or DIY fashion. Everything works. Trends come and go, you can’t discard everything in exchange for a new one each season. It is always better to be creative and think of different ways to achieve the same trendy looks that others spend hundreds of dollars on.

Great tips Iris. My own tip is updating an outfit with new season accessories which you can find quite cheaply – jewellery, hats, belts, bags. Thanks for sharing at #WowOnWednesday

Moumous, you look so amazing, my friend! This dress fits you like a glove and I am loving that satin blazer with it for a cool edgy vibe. Really great tips, too! I have been mostly shopping my closet this year because I currently have a budget of zero for clothes! Haha. Thanks for sharing and linking up.

The white blazer reflects clarity, purpose, and a fresh chapter. And, the gold accents? A reminder that value comes from within, but shines brightest when you carry it with confidence.

For me, power dressing isn’t about looking intimidating, but about embodying authenticity. It’s the art of aligning how you present yourself on the outside with the strength and vision you hold within.

Styling is a calling that humbles you. Moments lik Styling is a calling that humbles you. Moments like this, kneeling on the floor, adjusting the delicate strap of a sandal, remind me that elegance isn’t just built in front of mirrors, but in the quiet details no one always sees.

Having the privilege to style fashion designer Stella Jean @stellajean_sj_ during her visit to Haiti @haifex.ht was more than work; it was a reminder of why I do what I do. It’s about service, attention, and the joy of seeing someone step into a look that makes them feel like their best self. The reward?
