Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well. This week has been very challenging to me. I am surprise to see how resilient I can be as a mom and also how determined I can be when I really want something. On Monday I fell up the stairs on my spines. Although the injury was minor, the pain was – and still is- horrible. Since I made it clear to the doctor that there is no way that I can be on bed rest full time with 3 kids (a 6 years old and twins of 2), so he probably thought that a wheelchair would help or maybe given that the wheelchair itself is also painful, would actually convince me to stay in my bed. But if you are a mom, you know that is impossible – so painkillers are my best friends with some rest in the middle. Let’s talk about bad timing, shall we? Anyway, I wanted to give you some heads up since my blogspots are being published pretty late this week.
So for today’s post, I wanted to openly talk about all the faux-pas I made in this outfit. So before I start- I think I should defend myself: I do monthly photoshoot session mostly because I have a full time job and I live in the complete opposite direction to @vonvonphotography and I am also committed to the blog schedule. And most of the time, I do have to go to work after the session. So this outfit was the last out of a serie of 12 so needless to say I was a little tired and in a rush to get it over with. With that said, let’s talk about the 5 fashion faux-pas I made for this one:
- Hairdo: I should have gone with an updo. To my defense I did bring the bobby pins with me but completely forgot about them;
- Watch: I should have not wear a watch with the gown. I had it on since the previous outfit was this one here;
- Makeup: Current make up did not do the dress justice. I should have gone – at least- with a red lipstick (which I had with me again) to elevate the look. Red is the complementary color of green in the chromatic color wheel and would have made the look more glamorous.
- Jewelry: Earrings to be more precise. I should have gone with a pair of classic chandeliers (I had them with me). Then again, we were all tired and all too excited to get this session over with.
- Alteration: The dress was way too big for me. I picked the smallest size available and although we made a few tricks to make it fit, It needed alteration to fit my body properly (size and length). Anyway, in that particular case, alteration was obviously impossible since I had to return the dress to the store :-).

I love that dress. It is perfect to attend a summer wedding. Can you tell tell that green is growing on me? Anyway, I wanted to plan a remake but we were officially locked down the day following my photoshoot session and instead of giving up on them I prefer to share them with you and making it some sort of a teaching moment. I hope you will enjoy that one as I am openly self-criticizing my work.
Thanks for stopping by and remember to stay home and safe.
XoXo,
Moumous
