Hi everyone:
Happy Friday! How are you doing? I am a little tired and I’m trying to take it easy.. I hope to recover soon. Anyway, I was looking for inspiration for this post and came across a lady named “Kallie: that put up a list of 24 things that a woman over 30 should not wear. Apparently, by age 30, women are expected to be a little more mature, and they should dress like it too. I have a different opinion on the topic. To me women of all ages should dress according to their morphologie, color palette and lifestyle (her lifestyle would determine what she can or can’t wear). Of course, when you are young, they will forgive you for that extra-inch shorter mini skirt or that all too tight pair of pants. However, I also think women of all ages should avoid looking too tacky or slutty. That brings me to today’s post: Here’s 5 fashion faux pas you shouldn’t be making after college.
- Wearing too much makeup: Wearing the wrong makeup can totally backfire. Makeup should hide your imperfections and simultaneously look natural. You need to upgrade your makeup and application techniques accordingly. Everything, from the foundation to the lip color, as well as the nail color needs to undergo an upgrade.
- Wearing the wrong underwear: Figure out the right size for your undergarments and stay away from smaller, ill-fitting sizes. They’ll just make your shape look weird. Invest in shapewear and seamless underwear which will help you avoid the visible panty line.
- Wearing running shoes with everything: How can one wear athletic shoes with everything and everywhere? It’s just disastrous and looks funny! Unless you’re running, playing sports, or exercising, leave your running shoes in your wardrobe. For footwear that’s comfortable, you can opt for flat sandals, ballerinas, low-heeled pumps, boots, or slip-ons. The white sneakers trend is not for everyday / everywhere wear.
- Following trends blindly: Be mindful when it comes to trend. This is criminal, teenager. Sure, it’s tempting but you are no longer a teenager. That doesn’t mean you give up on trends completely. Being trendy is great when it comes to handbags, sunglasses, scarves, and jewelry. Just not with all the items of clothing that are trendy. Instead of splurging on passing trends, buy a few pieces for flair.
- Accessorizing too much: Nothing can kill the elegance of a beautiful outfit like over-accessorizing. If you’re wearing a bold statement necklace, you will do well in ditching the earrings and vice versa. Similarly, if you’re wearing a heavy bracelet, wearing rings is unnecessary. It is always better to make one accessory the hero and tone the others down.

There’s nothing wrong in trying to look younger than your real age, provided you do so correctly. You should look good for your age and for life goals as being fashionable will only work in your favor, but you also need to bear the dos and don’ts in mind, else it could leave you looking all out of place.
Thanks for stopping by.

Moumous, this outfit is so adorable! I love your shoes and bag, the graphic tee and your skirt! All separately and together, I adore them. I think wearing too much makeup that doesn't appear natural is kind of disastrous for even college girls, isn't it?! Haha. And the right undergarments is an absolute must! I don't think I even learned that bit of information until I was in my 30's! Great post, my friend. Thanks for linking up.

Hi Shelbee – College girls like to experiment – sometimes thru makeup. It's apparently a way of finding themselves. I can't really tell – Life did not give me the choice to experiment lmao.

I definitely err on the side of no makeup over too much (same goes for accessories), so I should work on adding a little more flair to my looks, but I agree that a little goes a long way – especially when you're not a teen anymore!
