5 Shopping Tips for Sale Seasons

July 24, 2020 by Moumous |

Hi everyone,

I know, I know – Don’t we all fall for it? Whenever we hear “Sale” we run? Then after come the guilt : Is it worth it? Where will I wear those pair of shoes or that bejeweled blazer? What do I have in my closet that will go along with these weird cut pants? Or on which occasion will I be able to pull up that dress? it’s definitely all too easy to get caught up in sales madness and spend far too much money on stuff you don’t really need anyway.  But with some planning (and a healthy dose of self-control) you can hit the shops with less stress and bag a bargain on the things you actually need. So here’s 5 tips that can help you make the most out of a Sale.

1- Make a plan

I know right? Easier said than done… Always have an accurate list of what you actually want to add in your wardrobe. It can be a basic or simply just something that you have been eyeing for a while that you know will fit perfectly to your style and your existing wardrobe. And try to prioritize this list while shopping. Also, don’t buy anything that would require you to buy a complete outfit to be able to wear it.

2- Set a Budget

It’s hard to not buy all the shiny things you see on sale, but if you set a budget up-front, you’ll save yourself from buying things you don’t need.

3- Push back against pushy salespeople

No matter how attractive an offer may seem or how persistent a retailer is, don’t fall for the hard sell. You could end up with something you don’t need or want, or worse – a dodgy product.

4- Haggle

Even when things are on sale, you may be able to negotiate a cheaper price and if you can pay in cash, you may be able to get a lower price on the day.

5-  Compare products and prices

Just because something is on sale doesn’t mean it’s the best deal. A 20% discount in-store might seem like a good deal, but you’ll be kicking yourself if you later find out that you could have bought it cheaper elsewhere.

One important question is "do we really need to purchase the sale?"
    I didn't know the #4 tips.

Moumous, I am loving this gorgeous outfit on you! Wow. Such brilliant colors. So beautiful. Really great shopping tips as well. Although I don't know of any retailer in the U.S. that will permit haggling and negotiating price. Maybe at a flea market but never in a retail store. Thanks for sharing and linking up!
