Hi everyone,
Great style is all about expressing yourself and the easiest way to look and feel your best is to simply be yourself and wear what you love. But sometimes, being authentic is easier said than done. While most of us might admire somebody else’s look and mimic it, over the long term, trying to be more like others in the way that you dress and express yourself can be damaging to your self-esteem, and stop you from creating a signature style that allows you to really express your true self.
After all, you were born a unique human being, so why try and be anybody else? If being authentic with your dress style is something that you’re quite new to, try these tips designed to help you be truer to yourself and feel your best.
Know Your Style
There are many style categories in fashion. Vintage, creative, classic, natural, romantic, and dramatic are a few of the most common fashion styles. Vintage styles are those that were trendy in the past. However, classic clothing is timeless and staple pieces that don’t go out of style through the years. Dramatic styles are styles that are unconventional and go out of the common fashion standards. The natural style is plain, comfortable, and simple. While romantic style is opting for more bubbly and feminine outfits.
It is always important to know your personal style. Know what clothes suit you and what outfits bring out your confidence. Your style says a lot about you too.
Wear a Statement
Statement pieces are unique, eye-catching pieces. They are signature pieces that stand out from your overall look. They can be anything from tops, bottoms, shoes, and accessories. It doesn’t have to be bright, bold, and awkward to wear. They can be just simple pieces with a twist. Choose pieces that would make you stand out and make your outfit pop. They can be anything as long as they suit your style.
Alter Your Clothes
Alter your clothes or have them altered. Don’t be afraid to tweak your clothes a little. Let them be fixed to give an illusion that they are made for you alone. You can change and add some designs to the ready-made clothes you own. You can also add or remove collars, extend hems, and add elements such as beads, laces, patches, or ribbons.
Accessorize
Accessories are essential in fashion. They elevate your look to make it look more polished. You can add some subtle, dainty, or bold accessories depending on your own style. Also, wear accessories that give hints about your personality. Accessories tell so much about a person’s tastes so don’t be afraid to wear what you like.
Have a Fashion Inspiration
It always helps to have inspiration. This doesn’t mean copying others’ styles but this would just serve as a guide for you to know more about yours. It also doesn’t have to be a specific celebrity or model. You can just browse the internet and find other people whose styles suit your taste. This would help you determine what you like and what you don’t like. So, your personality would reflect your clothing style more.
Be Confident
Confidence is always key. Being confident allows you to carry yourself in a better way. Don’t be afraid to wear what you like and be comfortable with it. Be bold and add some personality to your fashion. Dress for yourself and don’t let other people’s opinions get in your head.
In conclusions clothes are essential in expressing one’s individuality. In this fast-paced world, it is important not just to follow new trends but to have your own personal style. Your manner of clothing also says a lot about you. So, it is important to reflect your personality in what you wear. This will give people subtle hints about who you are. Don’t be afraid to express yourself and embrace your own uniqueness.
So what is your Style Personality? Are you a classic? Natural? Maybe a Creative? Or a mix of 2? Comment below and let me know. Personally, I am a dramatic / romantic. I like to replace dramatic by creative to give me a good conscious but let’s be honest….

Good to see you back in the link up ! Love the outfit, pinned. You have a very distinct sense of style. I’d say I, probably a classic dramatic. In the Kibbe system I lean towards Gamine.

Every time you go out in public, you’re making an impression (positive or negative) on strangers who happen to see you. Plus — you always feel better when you make the effort to look good. Love those boots and that poncho! Thank you for sharing this post in the Talent Sharing Tuesdays Link-Up 45.
