How to look Elegant & Classy Everyday

August 10, 2021 by Moumous |

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday! Some of us might think it is impossible to be elegant and classy every day. This is especially more difficult for those that are on a budget or, have limited wardrobe options but still wanting to look good.  Either way, today we are going to share some awesome tips on how to look elegant and classy every day without breaking the bank.

Dressing classy is not as hard and boring as everyone thinks. Did you know that adding a bit of elegance and sophistication to your style can help boost your personality? This will also help boost productivity as you will be more confident and willing to do more things during work hours.  In other words, if you “Look Good“, you “Feel Good“! So, if you are looking for classy looks that are within your budget, here are my top 10 tips:

1. Establishing Your Personal Style for An Elegant Look

A personal style is wearing clothes and fashion pieces that you can personally relate to. We all have our own unique tastes and a personal style that we prefer to stick to. Ideally, you will be sticking with items and things that you can identify yourself with. This will showcase your personality more, your mood combined with your inspirations, lifestyle, hobbies, and interest. For work, less is more but it does not mean plain or boring.

2-  Invest in classy and elegant fashion pieces that never go out of style.

A lot of women make the mistake of purchasing items that are currently trending because their favorite celebrity is rocking them or a friend is wearing the latest trend. By doing this, you will need to purchase something new every time that item goes out of style. And not only that, most of those fast fashions items will fade after just one wash. So, in order to stay on budget and still look relatively fashionable, purchase items that never go out of style. That leads us to our next tips:

3. Get your basics right

Wardrobe basics are essentials. Get them off the best quality that you can afford. You can then mix and match them with trendy pieces that can be of lesser quality to stay current or to express your style personality.

4. Use Accessories To Pop A Boring Outfit

Dainty jewelry (currently trending along with paperclip chains) will sure elevate your look. If you can’t get the real deal, you can certainly go with some of the other options available that guarantee the same results: stainless steel, gold plated, gold-filled, etc. The secret is to get rid of them as soon as they start to fade. Other accessories to consider: sunglasses, watch, scarf, hat…

5. Invest in A Good Pair of Shoes

A pair of shoes can elevate any simple look or can make any expensive or elegant look tacky. Choose your pair wisely. Take them to the shoe repair cobbler whenever necessary. A good pair of shoes will give you the confidence you need to look classy yet elegant!

6. Add a third piece To Your Wardrobe

Blazers and Trench coats are women’s best friends. Adding a third piece to your outfit will definitely take your outfit to another level and will showcase that you actually.

7. Keep your makeup simple yet elegant

Make Your Lips Your Focal Point. A bold lipstick definitely brings sophistication to your look. Try one of those true red colors. Remember to keep your makeup simple. You may want to bring attention more to your eyes and that’s ok. Remember if the focus is on the eyes go for nude lipstick and vise-versa.

9. Style your Hair

Find the perfect hairstyle for your face shape that you can easily maintain is recommended. Something as easy as opting for a high ponytail or curling a normally straight hairstyle can make all the difference in giving you a whole new look!

10. Nails

Manucure or pedicure are a must. Keep your nails short (or not too long). Neutral nail polishes and  French manicures look so timeless and effortlessly chic. Red, pink, orange nail polishes are also great options.

A few bonus tips:

  • Classy yet elegant without showing logos: I am not saying don’t wear logos, but the big flashy logos on clothes just comes off as tacky and trying too much.
  • And don’t forget to get the proper underwear for your outfit. Proper underwear will also make you look more put together.

Every detail tells a story: The bold frames remind Every detail tells a story: The bold frames remind me to see the world differently, with courage and color. The white blazer reflects clarity, purpose, and a fresh chapter. And, the gold accents? A reminder that value comes from within, but shines brightest when you carry it with confidence.

For me, power dressing isn’t about looking intimidating, but about embodying authenticity. It’s the art of aligning how you present yourself on the outside with the strength and vision you hold within.

Because when you walk in your truth, style becomes your silent introduction.

Styling is a calling that humbles you. Moments lik Styling is a calling that humbles you. Moments like this, kneeling on the floor, adjusting the delicate strap of a sandal, remind me that elegance isn’t just built in front of mirrors, but in the quiet details no one always sees.

Having the privilege to style fashion designer Stella Jean @stellajean_sj_ during her visit to Haiti @haifex.ht was more than work; it was a reminder of why I do what I do. It’s about service, attention, and the joy of seeing someone step into a look that makes them feel like their best self. The reward? That sparkle in their eyes when they stand tall, ready to take on the world.
