10 handbags to carry through every season

With each passing season, a new collection of It bags pops up on the scene, and the options can be quite overwhelming. From crossbody bags that make traveling easy, to croc-embossed bucket bags, and itty bitty micro minis, the dominating trends and shapes to choose from are endless. Instead of splurging on everything and anything, today we are breaking down the key types of handbags every woman should have in their wardrobe. 

1- The Satchel 

Structured, top carry handbag. This is the lady everyday handbag. It is also the perfect handbag to go to work.

2- The Structured Tote Bag: 

Large, double handle, with an open top and open large compartment. They are more casual than the satchel handbags. It looks very trendy and stylish, yet being practical for everyday use (approve for work).

3- The backpack 

Say goodbye to the connotation that backpacks are only for school. This nostalgia bag can serve as both a handbag and your laptop carrier—making it great for a weekend away and sophisticated enough for your 9-to-5.

4- The Bucket bags

Roomy, shaped like a bucket. Usually has an open top and shoulder strap. Although the bucket bag craze slowed down a bit in recent years, this roomy, chic handbag option never really goes out of style. Another great option for everyday use. 

5- The shoulder bags 

The classic shoulder bag, which was once the main handbag type of the ’90s, is back with a vengeance. It’s an easy bag to hold, as it can go over the shoulder, in your hand, or clutched for a night out. Some of them can also be carried cross-body. Also, most of the handbags (tote, satchel, clutch) comes with a strap and can be carry over shoulder. 

6- Clutches 

The perfect accessories for evening wear. Small but long (rectangular), without an handle, mostly used for the evening. If similar to a letter, it is called evelopped. It’s called “Wristlet” if clutch shaped with an attached strapped. It is called “Minaudiere” if made with a hard case and covered in beads or crystal.  

7- Beach Bags

A large handbag, sometimes of canvas, used to carry personal items, as a bathing suit, towel, and suntan lotion, to and from a beach. Some of them are cute enough to carry around during summer for running errands.

8- Straw bags (summer bags)

Straw bags peaked in popularity in Summer 2018, with basket bags, rattan crossbodies and slouchy woven totes… Classic totes and picnic baskets are, of course, on offer. Perfect for all casual day-time occasion during Summer time.

9- The regular Tote Bag 

Most of them are shapeless and made out of very light material. It is ideal to running errands and for everyday used. Not recommended to wear to work.

10- Statement Handbag 

Nothing quite finishes an outfit off like a statement accessory. A handbag can turn a simple and plain outfit into something straight off the catwalk. A statement handbag can completely and utterly change the look of what you’re wearing. Not only is it practical to keep your belongings in, but it’s a seriously stylish addition to what you’re wearing.

Not mentioned, but a laptop bag, a makeup bag and a nice leather wallet are must-haves in a woman wardrobe. My favorite everyday handbags are the satchels (can you tell? lmao).  My favorite tote bag is the pink one, not only for the color but it is the smoothest leather handbag I own.
