What to do for him/her on Valentine’s Day?

Before you go on to say Valentine’s Day is overrated, let me just stop you right there. I, for one, LOVE Valentine’s Day, (it’s a different story for my husband!). From surprise gifts and candlelight dinners to true romance and the festive ambiance, there is something special about the day that gives you butterflies in your stomach.

If you are like me, you must start planning to do something special for your special someone well in advance. Perhaps, you are completely clueless as to how to go about it. Chocolate and roses are so overdone (although I personally can enjoy some flowers along with a huge teddy bear), so maybe this year, you want the day to be absolutely unique. Let me share a few of the best romantic and cute ideas of things to do on Valentine’s Day. You can thank me later!

1. Breakfast in Bed

How about dishing up a little love by preparing a delicious breakfast for your beloved and serving it in bed? As they say, good food is the way to someone’s heart. You can make some waffles or pancakes and jazz them up with whipped cream and strawberries. You can even sprinkle some chocolate syrup.

2. Stay in a Suite

Pack away a few belongings and go on a short couple’s retreat. I would especially recommend this if you are a stressed-out parent or a burned-out workaholic. Send your kids off to their dear old grandparents, cancel all the appointments, and book a cozy suite for just the two of you.

Spend your time lazily snuggled up with each other in bed, watch a romantic movie on Netflix, order away your comfort food, and talk to your heart’s desire with zero interruptions and diaper explosions. You can also consider a one-night stay at a B&B.
