Contrary to popular belief about style, it’s not actually a one shoe fits all approach that needs to be taken. When it comes to style, fashion, beauty and other things like this, people get so obsessed with what everyone else is doing, that they forget they are supposed to be creating a style that works for them. If you lose sight of this, you’re never going to create a style that accentuates your best features and make you feel like this boss that you are. The idea of this is sad, so we’re going to be looking at how you can create the style that works for you in this article. If you want to know more about this topic, keep reading down below.
It’s All About Confidence
The first thing that you need to know is that it is all about confidence. You need to have confidence in what you choose to wear, but you also need to have confidence in yourself. So you don’t look like everyone else, what’s the big deal with this? It’s good to be different because nobody was ever noticed for being the exact same as everyone else in the room. We’re not saying that you want to be noticed or particularly stand out, but you need to feel confident enough that if you did, it isn’t going to bother you.
When you try an outfit on or do something different with the way you look, how does it make you feel? Do you feel good? Or do you feel as though this isn’t you? This is how you should make your decision. You’re not going to feel confident in something that doesn’t feel like you or your style, no matter how good other people believe it looks.
Tops
Next up on the list, tops! To create the style that works for you, you’ve got to think about all the areas you need to cover. So, you need to have a range of tops that make you feel good and show off your best features. If you’ve got a slim waist, then tops that accentuate this are going to be fantastic. If you’re conscious about this, then flare tops are the way to go. See how simple it is? It’s not difficult to work out what you think looks good on you, but if you’re unsure, you can consult a professional stylist or even someone who works in a fashion store. These people are going to be able to help you find the perfect tops from tanks, to t-shirts, to long sleeve shirts. It all depends on what you feel comfortable in, and how you look in certain pieces of clothing.
Bottoms
Now that we’ve looked at tops, we’ve got to look at bottoms. Even in each section, like pants or skirts, there are so many options for you to choose from. Looking at pants first, there are so many different types! You can go for jeans or other looser fitting pants, which all have different styles available from skinny and form fitting to bootleg. Leggings are another option when it comes to pants, and these go really well with longer tops! But, again, it’s down to what looks best on you and what makes you feel amazing.
Skirts also have an incredible variety that you might want to explore. Short skirts, mid-length skirts, maxi skirts, jean skirts, flowing skirts etc. There are so many different options, and each looks good with different styles of tops. Don’t dismiss anything until you’ve tried it on because do you know how many people think something won’t suit them, and then when they put it on, it looks incredible? Too many, don’t let yourself be one of them.
Glasses/Sunglasses
If you wear glasses, then you might find yourself trying to match your outfit with these. If this is the case, then you might want to consider purchasing more options, some being more light and comfortable than the others. Glasses come in different weights, colors, styles and sizes, which is why you should have more than one pair. Of course, you can get glasses that look good with all outfits, but this likely means they are quite plain, which isn’t something everyone wants.
Or, if you don’t wear glasses, you’re still going to need sunglasses for when the sun is out and blazing down. You don’t want to have to squint to be able to see what’s going on because the sun is constantly in your eyes. You’re also more likely to get sunburn around your eye area if you’re not wearing sunglasses! Other than being practical, they make a great addition to any outfit. Find a pair that makes you feel good, and then use them to accessorize your outfits!
Accessories
Other than the sunglasses we just talked about, there are plenty of other accessories that you can use to create a style that works for you. For example, jewelry is one of the best! Whether you are trying to choose a bracelet, necklace, ring, or anklet, you’re going to need to find something to jazz up the outfit. Obviously, not everyone wants a bit of bling in their style, and that’s perfectly fine, but if you do, make sure you’re choosing the right pieces. You don’t want to end up looking like you don’t know when to stop putting jewelry on, so you put on everything you own!
Further than this, depending on the season you’ve got hats, scarves, gloves, different shoes and so on. Make sure that your style is season appropriate, or you could find yourself sweltering/freezing for a couple of months. We’re sure your style can be adapted to whatever season it is as there’s always something available for you!
Comfort Is Key
When you’re creating your style, it’s important that comfort plays a key role in your decision making. You don’t want to be uncomfortable all the time, and there are some items of clothing that some people just don’t get along with. Everyone is different, and what’s comfortable for you might not be comfortable for someone else and the other way around, which is why you need to ignore some of the latest fashion trends and just do whatever feels best for you. Some people find walking in heels extremely easy and comfortable, but others feel like their foot is dying by the time they take the shoes off.
Don’t be pressured into wearing something that makes you feel uncomfortable. The saying that beauty is pain doesn’t have to be true. You can be beautiful and comfortable, there’s no reason that this isn’t possible.
Makeup?
Do you want to wear makeup? If you do, then this is going to be part of your style. But, this can always change up depending on your mood. One day you can be bold, flashy with bright colors and thick eyeliner on your face, and the next can be more understated. Your makeup can change all the time, but this doesn’t necessarily make a change to your style. Keep in mind that your style can be anything you want it to be, meaning that whatever you choose to do with all aspects of fashion and beauty is your style.
What Do You Like?
Forget what everyone else likes. Forget what your friends like, forget what the fashion magazines like, and forget anyone’s opinion that isn’t yours. If someone were to ask you what do you like, how would you answer? Think about it, and then use this to create your style. It’s easier to create something when you have an idea of where it’s going, and answering this question should be able to help you do just this. Don’t be afraid because you like something different to what’s ‘in’ right now, and don’t be intimidated by everyone looking the same. If you like your style, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.
Think About Your Hair
Another part of your style is going to be your hair, even if you don’t realize it. Do you dye your hair? If you do, it’s because you like it better this way, right? Well, that’s because you feel like you look better with it, which contributes to your style as a whole. Or, if you spend time styling your hair every day to make it look a certain way, this is the same thing. Your hair is part of the way you look, which means it’s part of your overall style. We doubt that you just dye your hair any color you can think of just because. No, instead, you think about what you’re going to do with it, and then you go for it!
We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now understand how to create the style that works for you. Take this advice, and you’re going to end up with something wonderful, but remember, it can always be changed if you want! Good luck, and have fun creating this look that is all about you!
