I am who I am. I am a woman. I am strong. I am stubborn. I am proud. I am persistent. I am focused. I have goals. I have dreams. big dreams. I am a professional with many hats and I am proud of who I became today. Challenges, Struggles, Difficulties everything that came my way, so far I have been given the power to turn them into opportunities. They made me who I am today. No shame. I learned from my mistakes. They helped in my journey of becoming my true self. And I’m still learning… If I fall, I pray the Lord and he always help me get back on my feet.
I love hard. I cry hard. I am over-protective of whom I love. I am a wife, a mom, a daughter. I don’t have any siblings but I feel connected with all the beautiful souls I met thru my journey and they became family: the father or the sister that I never had or the big brother that I always wanted. I believe in the power of chasing your dreams and living a very balanced lifestyle that incorporates physical activity and social interaction. I love sharing my experiences with other women in hope that we can learn from each others and grow at our own pace.
On this special day, I wish all women to find their inner motivation in life. I hope that you feel empowered enough to become who you are meant to be. To follow your heart. To dream big and able to chasing those dreams. To make your own happiness. To STOP being the victim. You have the power to change your narrative and turned something bad into an opportunity to grow. Be yourself and understand that it requires great sacrifices, endurance, and determination to reach your full potential. And remember always keep your head high. You are up to great things. It is up to you to accomplish your destiny. Happy International Women’s Day!
For today’s post, I am pleased to feature the “Yaël&Valérie” clutch. Yaël&Valérie is a local business creating upholstery fabric and Wallpaper inked in tropical exoticism combining harmony, art, elegance, colors and cultural heritage sublimating your decor with a caribbean touch.
I was pleased to discover the magical world of Yaël&Valérie. A world where prints are more than fabrics, but canvases of art, history and deep connections. A world where prints speaks to us. I was also pleased to discover the story behind the brands. They remind me of who I am and how I became who I am today. I am sharing with you famous words of two women that marked the time. Borned in an era where women did not have a voice but managed to find ways of making theirs heard. I am so proud to have inherited such a rich cultural heritage. I hope they will inspire you as much as they inspired me:
“I resist”
Henriette Saint-Marc – 1700 – St- Domingue
” My Emancipation bears the color of hope.
I mingle with others,
I transcend the anteriority of slaves.
I live a freedom that I use as a lighthouse to seduce some
and a shield to reach my goal.
“I’m committed”
Sanite Belair – 1804 – Haiti
“I want my freedom, the real one
that was given to me by my ancestors,
I pledge, I take up arms…
I am free”
