Hi everyone,
Does this sound familiar? You need clothes, so you go shopping. You walk into a store, see the hundreds of items, and instantly feel overwhelmed. You wander around picking things up and wondering “is this for me?”, but aren’t really sure how to answer the question. You try lots of things on. You find some things you really like but you don’t know if you’ll actually wear them.
From decision fatigue to the tyranny of choice and the environmental stress, you end up buying something you might have an opportunity to wear twice a year, and the next day you get up and look at your wardrobe and you still have nothing to wear. There are lots of variations in this story, but if you’ve ever experienced frustration like that, you’re definitely not alone. The thing is, it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are 3 things you need to know / master before you can confidently go shopping for clothes and actually enjoy the process.
1- Know your colors
When you know your own colors, your brain will quickly filter out all the colors except the ones that might be yours. This makes the shopping process so quick. You can scan for your colors and check the ones that look close. Also, this will allow you to easily experience more colors without fear so that you can showcase all your best features. You will then wear neutral colors not because you are afraid of embracing colors but because you want. This saves so much time. And so much decision-making energy. There are so many benefits to having a Personal Colour Analysis, but this is one people often don’t anticipate.
2-Know your style
Good style is more than just fancy clothes. The way that we dress seriously affects our self-esteem. This doesn’t only reflect in our mentality but also in our interactions with the external world. First impressions are very important because they’re almost impossible to change. This is why you experiment with emotional fatigue when shopping. You are not sure if the clothes in front of you will send the right message to the world or will give you confidence.
There are many approaches to finding styles to flatter you, from simple body-shape flattery a la Trinny & Susannah, to more holistic style types from David Kibbe to Triumph of Beautifut Style. Whichever approach you take, the important thing is that you’re narrowing down your choices to ones that you’ll actually feel good in. You know, the 20% of your wardrobe that you wear 80% of the time. A Personal Style Analysis will definitely help you feel more confirmed about your choice.
2- Know your body shape
We are often hesitant about what to wear and are unsure whether or not that piece of clothing suits us well. Knowing how to dress for your particular shape helps you to look your best because it plays up your assets and downplays the areas of your body that you don’t necessarily want to draw attention to. Your style can even reflect what you stand for. Clothing gives an idea of your character and even boosts your confidence if you feel good about what you wear. A personal Body shape analysis Consultation will help identify all the silhouettes that flatter your figure the most. This will bring you confidence not only to be happy on a shopping day but also every time that you look at yourself in the mirror.
Mastering those 3 key points will definitely help you master your shopping and make more use of your existing wardrobe. The only variant to consider is that personal style has a circle. It tends to change as we evolve, age and also change lifestyle.

I am one of those people- I can’t bear shopping for clothes, except online. I’ve had color analysis but it’s still tricky to find the right colors in stores, depending on what season we’re in. But as I have built a good wardrobe of basics in the right colors, I can occasionally treat myself to an accessory or neutral if I’m in shop.
