Hi everyone,
Happy Wednesday everyone. As promised, today we have part II of last week’s blog post. I noticed that these posts are way more popular than the other contents that I usually share. So I will try to blog more about self-motivation, self-confidence, and self-development. I also want to tackle that same topic from another angle where I will mostly focus on staying motivated in your working environment as an employee. For today, we are closing the series with 6 additional things you can do to become more positive and motivated every day. After reading these tips, hopefully, you realize the work that you can put in to become more positive and motivated.
Remember, motivation starts within. Find it, keep it and make it work for you.
1. Keep Track Of The Compliments You Receive
This might seem like a strange thing to do, but it can be massively helpful. If you keep a log or file of compliments that you have received throughout the various aspects of your life, it can be helpful at a later date. Furthermore, it can help to get through those moments where you feel incapable, stressed, or demotivated. Seeing the kind things that others have said about you can be reassuring, help you to get back on track to become more motivated and positive.
2. Take Breaks From Work
Rather than working feverishly on a task for hours and hours on end, consider breaking it up as much as possible. Research has shown that when you take time away from your desk or your projects, it keeps your satisfaction higher and minimizes your chance of feeling burnt out.
3. Continuously Work On Improving And Learning
Throughout work and life, if you focus on continual improvement, you will continue to head in the right direction. If you remain stagnant in various aspects of your life, it can be easy to start feeling like you’ve lost your edge. Even if you are stuck in a job that you don’t particularly like, doing it to the best of your ability and seeing signs of improvement will be rewarding to you.
4. Tackle One Task At A Time
When thinking about the long to-do list of things that you need to accomplish, you can make any project seem like a path of misery. Instead, think about what you need to do right now and focus on that task until it’s done. When it is done, check it off your to-do list and move to the next task. Rather than focusing on what you still have to do, focus on what you’ve gotten done. Furthermore, focus on the next task that you can look forward to checking off the list. Dividing your attention will likely just result in you procrastinating many different tasks and creating multiple halfway jobs in the end.
5. Be Mindful
Mindfulness is a mental practice of focusing on the now and the good that is happening. Keeping your mind focused on the present can help you to stay motivated and conquer small tasks one step at a time. It can also help prepare you for worst-case scenarios when you might be prone to reacting negatively. Instead of thinking about all that you’ll have to do to mitigate a problem, you’re instead focused on what you can do now to help yourself.
6. Help Others To Stay Motivated
Some of the most fulfilling work you can do is in other people’s lives. Helping other people can help you to realize how small your problems might be and that everyone is facing their own problems. Furthermore, it can help you realize that the world isn’t against you, but rather, but rather everyone is in it together. Helping others stay motivated doesn’t necessarily have to mean dealing with someone who has massive life problems. It can be a small task to help those around you that you live or work with.
Instead of focusing on your misfortune and the negative events that have happened in your life, try your best to focus on what you can control. Try to keep an open mind and think of how can you work to become more motivated to change your situation and make your life a more positive one?
