How to Look Shorter: 5 Outfit tips & tricks _ Part 1

I hope this blog post finds you well. I recently started a series of tips and tricks: “How-tos…”. The most recent post can be seen here. For today, we are going to talk about those tall girls that would actually like to appear shorter. Here are 5 tips that can help you look shorter:

Use Color blocking

Monochromatic outfits add height. Instead, break up your outfit with contrasting blocks of color. You can do this with different colored separates, by choosing a garment with cutout detailing, or by adding a contrasting belt.

Master the oversized trend

The oversized trend looks incredible on tall women but oversized pieces should still provide structure to avoid looking scruffy. They should be generously cut in the correct places and, balanced out with a slimmer fit elsewhere.

Wear bold Prints & Patterns

One of the advantages of your height is that you can wear beautifully bold prints and patterns, and enjoy creatively mixing them. Large, bold prints that would overpower a petite frame look incredible on you and help divide your height.

Choose Statement Accessories

As a tall and confident woman, you can create awe-inspiring looks with statement accessories. Max out oversized styles with the “wow” factor! With the focus on your gorgeous accessories, you’ll stand out with style.

Pick Square, Round & Peep Toes shoes

Rounded, square, and peep-toe shoes will help shorten your legs (avoid pointy-toe flats). Break up the leg and foot line with embellishments and design features that break up the monotony. No excuses for uninspiring footwear.

Also, if wearing heels elevate your mood, then wear them and stand tall! A tall woman in heels is communicating to herself and others that she is comfortable in her own skin. Rock your height and feel proud of it!
