Happy weekend! I hope you will make the best out of it. Do you ever look into your wardrobe and realize, once again, that all the clothes you own are black, white, grey, neutrals, and more black? A lot of people are afraid or unsure of how to introduce color into their outfits, they can’t figure out what shades go well together or how to style them. Wearing bold colors can literally transform your mood, energy and have you exuding confidence when done right. Today, I will share a few tips on how to incorporate colors into your wardrobe.
Monochromatic
If you’re terrified of wearing or matching different bold colors at once, start with one color, and pile it on, the more clashing the better. Pick a color and wear only it from head to toe. The trick to monochromatic is to pair lighter and darker variations of one color because they blend perfectly. Have you seen my Red monochromatic post, It is available here?
Flashy Neutrals With Color
Go metallic instead of your regular brown, nude, navy. Metallic like gold and silver are neutrals too and can help brighten your outfit without doing too much. Grab a shiny metallic top, dress, skirt or pants and pair it with a bold pop of color to create an eye-catching ensemble.
Primary Colors
The safest way to get started with wearing bold colors like they were meant to be worn is to start by mixing the primary colors, which are red, blue, and yellow. You can wear one color as the top and another on the bottom, or incorporate all into your outfit. Confidence is key to pull this one off.
Complementary Colors (Contrast)
Pay Attention to The Color Wheel. The color wheel is your cheat code for mastering how to rock bold colors. The wheel is a circle containing all the colors of the rainbow. The secret is that colors on opposite sides of the wheel go well together.
