No makeup and filter other than the early morning daylight |
Hi Everyone,
My mom used to say that a woman should always take care of her face because it’s your “passport”. Growing old, we become more self conscious about our appearance which sometimes may impact our self confidence. I personally think that once you are in your 20’s you definitely need to set up an appropriate face care regimen so you always look clean, fresh and ready to go with minimal to no makeup.
Some of us may need more help and that’s why we have dermatologists and we should not hesitate to see one if need be. With that said, I still struggle with breakouts and after my last pregnancy it took me a year to feel content with what I was seeing in the mirror every morning. But I am lucky enough to be able to get rid of them once I find the appropriate skin regimen.
I am not a dermatologist and I am not a certified esthetician whatsoever to give you advice when it comes to face skin care but I want to share a few tips that I personally follow and that work for me:
- Wash your face early in the morning with a lukewarm water followed by your regime;
- Use sunscreen in the morning (in your face cream or in your makeup);
- Do not touch your face all the time (for no reason)
- Do not sleep with your makeup on;
- Avoid face products with alcohol as much as possible (unless otherwise prescribed by your Dr.);
- If you are over 25, start including face serum in your regimen like a vitamin C face serum;
- Exfoliate at least once a week (twice if necessary);
- Do a monthly facial with a certified esthetician;
- Healthy Diet (here I go again);
- Drink your water (2.2L min or 8 glasses min.).
Also:
- Get enough sleep;
- And last but not least, cigarettes are your worst enemies.
With that said, I am sharing with you my current regimen and how it evolves based on my needs at the moment. Please note that I have acne-prone and super sensitive skin. My face skin is normal to dry but my skin is generally dry. I also have atopic skin.
All the products I currently have or use |

Babe Essentials (available on local market)- Activated Charcoals.Used every once in a while my Freeman Clay mask has basically replaced this.

My favorite makeup remover . I damped it with lukewarm water and that’s it. Eye makeups tend to be stubborn so what I do I use a cotton ball along with the rose water I currently have to remove whatever is left before I move forward with my routine. Buy this make up remover towel here |
My Favorite Face Skin Care Routine (will start using them again by the end of the year).
My favorite Daily facial cleanser. It didn’t work for me during the twins pregnancy so I stopped using it but I am going right back at it once I finish what I am currently using. Buy here |
The Serum that goes with it. It’s 2 in 1 therefore I can skip one step when I am using this line 🙂 Buy here |
One of my favorite daily moisturizer. FYI, I only use one face cream for day and night although they recommend a thicker cream for night time but I’m fine with my current routine. Buy here |
Products I would actually buy again
It happens quite often that a product I need is out of stock when I need it. So having alternatives is always a plus.
Started to use that product during the twins pregnancy and I love it – especially at night, remove my make-up quickly and I can afford to skip exfoliating when I use it. I no longer use it daily because I got my postpartum acnes under control. Buy here |
The only Rose water toner that works for me. Not available in my city so I ordered and it’s on the way. Buy here |
My all-time favorite face cream for the past 6 years. I can see myself using it again. |
I like this makeup remover because it didn’t give me any breakouts nor allergic reactions. It’s Aveeno so it was expected. Always in my rotation. Buy here |
Another acne wash I used during and after pregnancy. I can see myself using this again in the future. Buy here |
My most recent “never again”
To define your regimen, you should first determine your skin type and then try to find products that works for you from the range of products available for your skin type. There are so many products available on the market that you may actually get lost. So some products I tried I will never buy again but I don’t think they worth mentioning because I either had an allergic reaction or I don’t find them effective enough. However, I gave the below a try because I ran out of my usual products and they were all out of stock everywhere. And this one is the winner of this category: I experienced skin burns (for the first time in my life) on top of other allergic reactions and actually made my breakouts worst.
I do not recommend this line Very harsh on my skin and didn’t do much for me. Will never use again |
My “Would like to try”.
I have sensitive skin so when I tried this clay mask with AVOCADO and Oatmeal (after discussing with my esthetician) and seeing how clean and hydrated my face is with no allergies or breakouts after each use, I would like to try more from the line.

Teeth Care Regimen
Of course, every woman should care of their teeth. We know how we can easily kill someone with a nice or dry smile (in a good or bad way – lol), so we should take care of them. I will be honest and admit that I am very lazy in that sense as I don’t go to the dentist as often as I should but I highly encourage you to visit your dentist once a month.
My regimen is pretty simple. Brush my teeth twice a week with a soft whitening toothpaste and I use the below products once a week or all over the weekend to help me keep my teeth clean and fresh.
So, what is your face skin care routine? What are your struggles? Do you have a regimen for your teeth and if so, please share with me in the comment section below. I would like to know how you manage to keep those pearls white.
As usual, thank you for stopping by.
XoXo,
Moumous
