Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing ok. One of the most important thing that you can do during such a difficult and uncertain time is self-care. As self-care may have different meanings, here self-care refers to the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress. This is also the time to reflect. Remember to wake up and dress up everyday. Today, I am sharing 15 things that you can do during this confinement period.
- Indoor workouts: Find your perfect routine and stick to it. It will definitely give you the necessary energy to go by your day and stay productive.
- Family time (game time): If you are confirmed with family members or friends then it’s game time. A few of my favorites are : monopoly, scrabble, backgammon, Guess who (my daughters fav game), battleship, puzzles…
- Meditation: 3 of the key benefits of meditation is that it reduces stress, controls anxiety, promotes emotional health among other things. Find the type of meditation that works for you.
- Cook & eat healthy: Make the inventory of what you currently have in your kitchen and start cooking. It’s definitely the time to try some new recipes. And remember to get plenty of protein, fruits and vegetables. Colorful eating is the way to go
- Online course: I didn’t think of that one but a friend of mine sent me a notification of free online courses that some university made available for the quarantine period. What a wonderful idea. I think we should all take advantage of that and learn something relevant. Some free online courses available here.
- Clean the house: and fix those things you’ve been planning on doing forever.
- Wardrobe Cleaning: It’s definitely an opportunity to evaluate your wardrobe, Declutter, empty and clean your closet, store your clothes by category. Take the time to revisit your basics and make a list of what you are missing so you know what to prioritize the next time you go shopping.
-Movie/ TV show marathon: One of my favorite activities (no shame): Grey’s Anatomy marathon anyone?
- Video Call / Chat: Hangout with family friends thru social media or video skype. We may not be able to see each other face to face but you can definitely stay connected. Thanks God for technology.
- Self-Care everyone: Take time for you: taking a 15 bath with a glass of wine sounds like heaven. It’s also an opportunity to get your facial mask on. When you done, don’t forget to give those hair strands some TLC. Last, but not least, do not forget to properly take care of those teeth.
- Work on pending projects: Yet an opportunity to stay focus and productive. Enjoy the calm and serenity in the comfort of your home to work on a project closed to your heart. If you don’t have anything yet, think about your goals in life then write them down then break them down into objectives and actions that can lead you towards the accomplishments your goals.
- Read a book : If you don’t have book at home. You can find some online library. Although, romance is my favorite, I would recommend to read a book that will help you in your journey of becoming your better self. Click here for free e-books.
- Get plenty sleep: Say no more!
- Be creative (Arts & Crafts). Another family approved activities.
– Take your vitamins : Remember to take your vitamins C, D and B6, magnesium and Zinc to boost your immune system.
– Drink plenty of water: Last but not least, drink your water :-). Stay hydrated!

Staying at home for a prolonged period of time may prove difficult, but that’s even more of a reason to rise to the challenge – There are plenty of things to do to remain productive, just remember to wash your hands at regular intervals and use anti-bacterial wipes for things that you touch or use often. Taking hygiene seriously is a key factor and it’s also important to take care of yourselves. Stay safe everyone!
Thanks for stopping by.
