Hi everyone,
It’s officially Summer :-). “People are excited to be out and about, and nothing says I’m emerging out of living in quarantine more than bright pops of color and showing off some skin. After spending two (2) summers (for most of us) in national lockdown, it’s no exaggeration to say that we’re all owed one hell of a good one this year.
Even if the weather doesn’t play ball, at this point we’re going all-in on summer fashion. Whether you’re soaking up the sun during your first holiday in what feels like forever or you’re staycationing in your garden for the third year on the trot, if spring/summer 22 fashion week was anything to go by last September, this season looks set to be a scorcher. Ahead, browse our picks for the trends that will help you get the most out of the short summer season.
Yellow
Brighten your day with a mood-boosting yellow hue. Start with a slinky dress or go all out in a monochromatic look. If complete saturation is not your forte, use the bold color as a jumping-off point. It’s the perfect accompaniment for slightly muted tones like earthy taupes and pastels like lilac.
Cuts Out
Skin is in, and summer ’22 is about the peek-a-book trend. To make the trend work for you, choose flattering cutout placements around the midsection or hips.
White Suiting
I love a White Suit – I love white clothing. Period. While dresses are an easy summer go-to, suiting is a great alternative that provides that same head-to-toe look but with a fresh twist. If head-to-toe suiting isn’t your style, break up the look with sleek separates, like a white blazer and jeans or cream trousers paired with a breezy tee.
Ultra Minis
Pleated skirts may be midi for this season, but all others are raising the hemlines to minuscule lengths. These are minis that the supermodels of the ’90s would’ve been proud to wear, with well over half of the thigh exposed beneath the brief slip of fabric.
Liquid Metal
This season sees a new way to do metallic. We encourage you to get your shine fix via liquid metal sheens; a far subtler, more grown-up, and contemporary take on shimmer. Predominantly – but not exclusively – found in golds and silvers, these sheeny dreams create a molten metal feel as luxurious, the shimmering fabric appears to be falling around your body.
So what are the trends that you are looking forward to rocking this summer or yet what are your plans? I would love to read about the fun activities that you have planned for yourself and your family. So leave me a comment below.

I love this two piece! I tried it on while I was on holiday in Madeira in April but didn’t buy it – I’m wishing I had now! Thanks for linking up!
