Why I fell in love with this gown : The purple Gown @Lilophia Boutique

Happy Weekend everyone,

I love the color purple. I think purple is the color that complement my skin tone the most, along with pink which make them my top favorites colors. I also like white, nude and black. However, I always get complimented when I wear red and blue and everything explained itself when you understand the color “purple” itself.

 Purple is a color intermediate between blue and red. It is similar to violet, but unlike violet, which is a spectral color with its own wavelength on the visible spectrum of light, purple is a secondary color made by combining red and blue. The complementary color of purple in the RYB (Red Yellow Blue) color model is yellow. (FYI- purple is more on the red side where as violet is closer to the blue side and I want to believe that I was made to rock all shades of purple).

According to surveys in Europe and North America, purple is the color most often associated with rarity, royalty, magic, mystery, and piety.When combined with pink, it is associated with eroticism, femininity, and seduction.

That being said, once you understand your skin tone /undertone and colors you can easily wear any color you want without looking tired, washed out or simply faded. You simply need to find the shade of such and such color that matches your skin complexion.

Enough rambling but all that to say that I couldn’t resist to try-on that beautiful gown during my dressing room try-on session @Lilophia Boutique. It is an easy to wear dress that will flatter all figures: the style, the mermaid/trumpet silhouette along with that scuba material make it so simple; yet elegant and timeless. Needless to say that I had to make a special feature out of it.
